Why am I asking for donations?

So I can pay YOU, the writer…but I’ll get back to that in a second.

Seriously, thank you to every writer, reviewer, reader, visitor, and fellow editor who has helped Specter in our brief life (six months up to this point). We hope you’ve enjoyed our magazine thus far and will continue to do so in the future.

Now–I want to pay those lucky writers who we accept into Specter Magazine. How much do I want to pay? Well–that depends on donations, of course. But even if it’s a dollar, I’ll happily pay it. It’s my philosophy that artists should be paid for their efforts; as editor in chief, I’d like to do whatever I can to make this happen here at Specter.

There’s no fixed amount for donations. Hey, if you can spare a buck, we’ll take it. And we’ll appreciate it. Then hand that buck to a writer to be published in Specter.
